Participants learned about TSIR, energy, natural motion and the relationship between Shintoism and the martial arts. Melanie Shintaku and Olivia Sentelle demonstrated traditional forms as well.

The Hanazono (Tokugawa branch family) provided their garden as a site for this Inari shrine which was moved to the present site. The Hanazono (meanings: flower garden) shrine is unusual in that it has an annual tori no ichi (festival of the fowls), which is not typically celebrated at an Inari shrine.
